Unreal Engine Automotive Visualization - RAYTRACING
The Chevrolet Bolt project was initiated when our team was tasked with exploring new ray tracing capabilities in Unreal Engine 4 (4.23 version). Our goal was to match, to the best of our abilities, renders from an external design team that had used Vred as their primary rendering software.
Subsequently, we placed our renders side by side with the matching angles and asked employees from various departments to vote for the most visually appealing and realistic ones. Surprisingly, renders that we created, without any retouching, gathered the most votes.
This project was an exciting deviation from our standard workflow for configurators, allowing me to experiment with new rendering techniques.
